Sean is the CEO of Silver Birch Group. He has almost 30 years of experience in corporate finance, capital markets and corporate banking.

Sean spent the majority of his career at Citigroup, where he was most recently Managing Director, Energy & Power Coverage, before joining Standard Chartered as European Head of Corporate Banking. Sean has extensive experience in climate finance and has also served as a member of the UK Government’s Green Investment Bank Commission, which led to the creation of the first Green Bank globally and is a Senior Advisor to the Climate Bond Initiative, a leading climate finance NGO, focused on accelerating the flow of debt capital to address global climate change.

Sean holds an MBA in Finance and a BSc (Joint Hons) in Economics & Politics from the University of Warwick and is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Gavin spent over 40 years in BP, where he held senior leadership roles within BP’s Trading Division including Head of Credit for EMEA, Global Head of Trade Finance and Senior Advisor on Trade Finance, Credit, Economic Evaluation and Distressed Debt situations.

Gavin led the restructuring of working capital financing within the Trading Division, transforming the business funding model.

Gavin started his career within BP Shipping and spent time as an originator in Trading, then moved to BP Treasury to create the Trade Finance Unit, before moving with the Unit to the Trading Division in 1993.   There he led a number of innovative and ground breaking oil backed prefinancing and prepayment deals in developing countries. During the Macondo crisis in 2010, Gavin worked closely with the Group CFO of BP to use trade finance techniques to provide essential liquidity for the Group. 

Gavin has a MA in Law from Cambridge University.

John leads our Inventory solutions business and is an ExCo Member. He has 28 years of experience in origination, structured trade finance and law.

John has held a number of senior positions at leading global financial institutions, corporates and fintechs, including Head of Oil Origination Europe, Africa and FSU at BP, where he served for 15 years. Prior to that, John spent nine years in Standard Chartered and UBS’s respective structured trade finance teams, leading transactions in Sub-Saharan Africa. He also spent time at a UK fintech building inventory finance solutions. John started his career as a Banking and Finance Lawyer at Clifford Chance.

John holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from Bristol University and completed Law School Finals at Guildford College of Law.

Tim leads our Tradeteq business and is an ExCo Member.

Tim has 22 years of experience of investment banking and financial services consulting, including eight years in the securitisation teams at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, syndicating both rated bonds and equity to a wide range of investors. He was also a Managing Director in the Innovation & Incubation team of a UK fintech. Tim spent time in the corporate finance teams of Deloitte and KPMG. Prior to finance, Tim was an Officer in the British Army and worked as an engineer with BP. 

Tim has an MA (Oxon) in Physics from Oxford University and an MBA from London Business School. 

Tony is a Managing Director at Silver Birch and is the Head of Portfolio Receivables Monetisation Solutions.

Tony has spent much of his career in the Telecoms sector, serving at Motorola and Ericsson in a variety of global and regional finance roles. Tony was also a Director at a UK fintech where he was focused on structuring and origination of working capital solutions. Tony is a CIMA qualified accountant with over 20 years’ experience. 

Tony holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies from Sheffield Hallam University.

Matt is a Managing Director at Silver Birch, and is the Head of Origination, Structuring and Bank Partnerships in EMEA.

He previously worked at Standard Chartered in the European Corporate Banking team where he was responsible for global relationships with large multi-national corporate clients in the Consumer and Retail space. Prior to that, he worked in the Special Resolution Unit (SRU) at the Bank of England and in the UK M&A team at Citigroup. 

Matt holds an MA (Hons) from both the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London and the University of Edinburgh.

Helen is a Managing Director at Silver Birch and leads our Legal and Structuring team.

Prior to joining Silver Birch, Helen worked at Linklaters LLP, focusing on leveraged finance and restructuring, based in Frankfurt and Madrid, before joining a UK fintech.

Helen holds an LLB and a BA from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, and is admitted to the bar as a solicitor in both England and New Zealand.

Manuel is a Managing Director at Silver Birch and is the Regional Head of Origination for Latin America.

Manuel had previously served at various financial institutions and fintechs in the Americas in origination, distribution, portfolio management and risk. 

Manuel has a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia and an MBA from Manchester Business School. 

Luanna is an Executive Director, Chief Operational Officer and the group’s General Counsel.

Luanna joined Silver Birch in May 2024 and has over 10 years of transactional experience as a lawyer. Prior to Silver Birch, Luanna trained and qualified as a solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills in London, before working in the corporate teams there and at Jones Day. Luanna subsequently moved in house, working in the legal teams at Investec (Investment Banking division) and at a listed biotech.

Luanna holds a BA in law from the University of Cambridge and is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales.

Nadia is an Executive Director and Chief Finance Officer for Silver Birch Group.

She has over 25 years of finance experience across various industries including Trade and Structure Finance, Energy Trading, Software Development and Commercial Property Development. Prior to joining Silver Birch, she was the Group CFO and a Director for a private equity backed NBFI, specialising in working capital solutions. She also spent over a decade in the energy sector with Petronas’ UK trading business.  

Nadia completed her training contract with PwC South Africa in 2005.

Doris is an Executive Director and leads marketing and communication strategy for the TFD Initiative and across the Silver Birch Group. 

She has built nearly 20 years of experience in finance, technology, and media as a B2B marketing, content and communications expert. Previously, she was Head of Marketing & Communications at Tradeteq and held senior roles at CNN International, Ebonylife Media and 90 Seconds creative agency, where she designed marketing campaigns and digital content ecosystems for brands such as Amazon, Google, HP, and Barclays.  She holds an MA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Westminster.

Kellie is an Executive Director at Silver Birch, focusing on product and structuring for inventory solutions. 

She has over 20 years of legal and structured finance experience including 14 years at JPMorgan where she held senior legal and product positions in London and New York. Prior to that, Kellie held legal positions at Bayerische Landesbank, White & Case and Clifford Chance.  She is qualified in English and Scots law.

Kellie holds a LLB (Hons) from University of Glasgow and a BA (Hons) in political science from Texas State University.

William is an Executive Director and Head of the Data Science team at Silver Birch.

He was previously an Actuary at Rimac Seguros where he worked on pricing, reserving and capital estimation. William has also worked as an Economic and Financial Consultant for multilaterals and public organisations in Latin America and the Innovation & Incubation team of a UK fintech.

William holds an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School and an MSc (Hons) in Economics from the Pacific University in Peru.

Shruti heads the Business Development and Investment Operations Team at Tradeteq.

She has 14 years of experience working in Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Nationwide in Structured Credit and Treasury teams. Shruti has a MSc in Finance from Lancaster University (UK) and BCom(H) from SRCC (Delhi University).

Neill is a Director at Silver Birch, focusing on origination within the TMT sector.

He started his career working within the Corporate & Institutional Banking division of Lloyds where he was part of the Trade & Working Capital team. Most recently Neill was at Santander CIB working within the Trade & Working Capital Sales team responsible for originating transactions for TMT and Consumer clients.

Carolina is focused on transactional legal support for our Origination and Product teams.

Before joining Silver Birch Finance, Carolina was an associate at Santos Neto Advogados in São Paulo, Brazil, where she was part of the banking and finance team. She also worked as in-house counsel at AlmaStone Services, specializing in trade finance within the commodities sector.

Carolina holds an LLB from Mackenzie University in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Omar is a Vice President at Silver Birch, within the Originate to Distribute team in Latin America.

With over 15 years of experience in global finance, Omar specializes in building and leading high-performing teams in complex, international environments. His core expertise lies in developing and executing Treasury Services strategies for corporate clients, driving sales growth, and successfully launching new financial products. 

Olimpia is a Vice President at Silver Birch, within the Originate to Distribute team in the Americas.

Prior to joining Silver Birch Finance, Olimpia worked at Scotiabank in the Capital Markets Legal team and at BBVA in the Investment Banking Legal department.

Olimpia holds an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School and an LLM in Banking and Finance from Queen Mary University of London.

Val is a Vice President at Silver Birch, focusing on Middle Office Operations.

Val has over 20 years’ experience working in finance, in various operation, implementation and client services roles. These include 14 years in Citibank and four years at Deutsche Bank, London. Prior to joining Silver Birch, Val worked within the origination middle office on key client accounts at a UK fintech.

Ella is a Vice President, Originate to Distribute EMEA at Silver Birch, focusing on Syndication, Distribution and Bank Partnerships.

Ella has previously spent time working in the Origination and Structuring team of a trade finance boutique, Tungsten Network Finance, and in the Distribution team at a UK fintech. 

Ella holds a BA (Hons) in Politics and International Relations from the University of Kent. 

Robert is a VP, Lead Data Scientist at Silver Birch.

Robert previously worked as a data analyst for a sports analytics company, working on solutions for numerous major sports franchises around the world. Before that he worked as a business consultant for a leading London based data and AI consultancy.

Robert holds a BSc degree in Engineering Management from Reykjavik University, MSc degrees in Business Analytics from Imperial College London and Statistical Science from the University of Oxford.

Sarah is an Associate at Silver Birch in our Origination team.

Prior to joining Silver Birch, Sarah spent time in the Corporate Banking team at Allied Irish Bank, working with large corporates across the TMT, Hotels, and Healthcare sectors. Sarah holds a BA in Business Studies from Dublin City University.

Dmitry is a Senior software engineer at Tradeteq.

He has 12 years of experience, including SRE and 5 years of team leading large existing and greenfield projects, implementing better engineering practices and covering full project lifecycles. Dmitry holds an MA in Engineering from Chuvash State University, Russia.

Jesper is a Lead Data Engineer at Tradeteq.

Jesper has a strong background in building scalable data-driven solutions, with experience working at companies in social media analytics, retail, e-commerce and trade finance.

Jesper holds a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from Stockholm University, and an MSc in Statistics from Imperial College London.

Clarice is responsible for shaping and delivering business solutions that enhance the Tradeteq platform.

She brings over 15 years of experience in business analysis and project management across technology and financial services. She previously held business analyst, project management, and development roles at HSBC Hong Kong within investor services and fund administration.

Clarice holds an MSc in Finance and a BSc in Computer Science from City University of Hong Kong.

Ray is a Finance Analyst at Silver Birch.

He brings strong background in management accounting, with several years of experience, including two years in practice and five years in the FinTech sector, specializing in Open Banking at Token.IO. Ray is currently completing his ACCA qualification through Kaplan Financial, further strengthening his expertise in finance and analysis.

Austin is a Data Engineer at Silver Birch.

He specialises in turning complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive decision-making across Silver Birch Finance and for its clients. Before joining Silver Birch, he worked in Sports Betting and Digital Marketing sectors, where he built audience segmentation models and automated reporting processes to support strategy for global clients.

Oyinkansola is an Operations Manager at Tradeteq.

She focuses on trade and investment operations, ensuring seamless management of operational processes. Prior to Tradeteq, Oyinkansola worked in banking operations at a leading financial institution in Africa. She holds an MSc in Data Science and its Applications (with distinction) from the University of Essex.
