Michael will support the Silver Birch team, advising on strategy, product development and market engagement.  

Michael is a recognised Trade Finance thought leader and has spent the majority of his 30-year career at Standard Chartered, where he held a number of leadership roles including Regional Head of Trade Finance for Europe and the Americas and Global Product Head of Trade Finance.  He has also served as Finastra’s Lead Industry Principal for syndicated lending and trade finance.  

Michael has held a number of external industry roles including Bankers Association for Foreign Trade (BAFT) Board Director, Chair of BAFT’s Global Trade Industry Council and Advisory Board Member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Banking Commission.  Michael is also currently the Deputy Chair of the World Trade Board.
